Nashville 2015 Winter Term Student Success - Kayla Stanley

Kayla Stanley, Nashville Medical Assistant student

My Name is Kayla Stanley and I am 26 years old. In high school at 16 years old I found out I was pregnant with my first child. With that new unexpected responsibility I had to drop out of traditional high school to support my daughter and myself.  At that point in my life I was focused on finding a job outside of a factory.  I started working as a certified nursing assistant for several years. I then met my husband; we have been married for 6 years and we have four beautiful children, three daughters and one son.

Earlier this year I made the commitment to make a change and pursue my dream of getting a degree.

I am proud to say I am a wife, a mother of four children and a full time student at Daymar College Nashville campus, working toward my dreams to earn my associates degree for Medical Assisting!

Though times might get hard, I know I have the support from my family; my husband always supporting my decisions, my mom for helping with my children, my sister for always being a listening ear, Daymar family staff & instructors and my aunt for suggesting Daymar college to me and encouraging me to come back to school.

Just know it is never too late to pursue your dreams!
